DETAIL: A superb naive oil painting by Bernard Carter. Born in London 1920, Carter was a painter and curator having been educated at Haberdashers Askes School and later at Goldsmiths London. He was long time keeper of pictures at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and had a long series of exhibitions with Portal Gallery. Also showed at the RA, British Council and abroad. Carters Abstract Composition completed in the mid 1950’s was included in Paule Vezalays Groupe Espace Exhibition at the Royal Festival Hall in 1955.
