DETAIL:Born in Middlesex he went to work in the family painting and decorating business but soon found that he had an aptitudie for drawing and was encouraged to attend evening classes, studying at Grosvenor School Of Modern Art and at Regent Street Polytechnic. He found himself drawn to the flower paintings of the great 17thC Dutch romantic artists Ambrosius Bosschaert, Roelandt Savery and Jan Breugel the Elder. His first show at the Bond Street GalLery in London was in 1957, exhibiting consistently there ever since. His trademark droplets of water were considered some of the best of all the 20thC still life painters.
