Born in Hendon Middlesex, Micklem studied at the Central School Of Arts & Crafts under Bernard Meninsky and then at Westminster School Of Art under Mark Gertler and Emslie Owen. He is represented in a number of public art collections such as the Government Art Collection and Buckinghamshire County Council.
