DETAIL: Born in Lausanne Switzerland, Parisod made the Swiss Alps his home for painting for his entire life. From 1924 helped by his friends in Lausanne he made study trips to Italy where the Florence School allowed him to perfect his technique. Unfortunately poverty means he was struck by TB but continued to paint and also set up studio spaces for fellow artists of Lausanne. He died on the night of November 16th 1943 in the chalet he occupied in the hamlet of Ville Sur Vers Elise just as the first alpine winter snow fell again for another year of painting.
