DETAIL: Born near Rome, he came to Florence at the age of 16 and studied with Odoardo Bonani while at the same time attending the School Of The Nude. He became a commercial portrait artist but later moved to painting landscapes and street scenes. His works are highly collected for their impressionist brushstrokes, play of light and colour.
