DETAIL: Born in Ingleborough Yorkshire in 1891 her family emigrated to New Zealand shortly after she was born. Mary returned to London and studied first at the Slade School Of Art and then in Paris where she became involved in the modern art scene. During her career she exhibited with The London Group, The New English Arts Club and at The Royal Academy. She hosted several solo exhibitions in London galleries and at the age of 75 held a retrospective in Gloucestershire.
