DETAIL: A charming still life dating to 1974 and exhibited at the RSA exhibition of that year. Norman Smith was born in 1910 in Walsall Staffordshire. He studied at Manchester School Of Art under Leslie Robert Baxter, at the Anglo French Centre, City And Guilds School Of Art with Rodney Burn and at Morley College under Colin Hayes. In the 1960’s he became attracted by Giorgio Morandi and began still life in oils. Smith was elected to The New English Arts Club in 1970 also exhibiting at the Royal Academy, RSA, RWA and the Paris Salon. Showed at Woodlands Art Gallery, The Lusson gallery,, The Honor Oak Gallery amongst others. He lived in London.
